Total map awareness - every role - one field
Play it. Marshal it. Run it.
Total awareness of the whole field, tuned to your job on it. The operator on the trigger. The commander calling the push. The marshal calling the hit. The organizer running the day. One app, one join, every role.
Roles: Operator - Commander - Marshal / Ref - Game Master
// It's ATAK. The air support's just not coming.
Dead-easy onboarding
On the map in three taps - no accounts, no faff.
At a loud, sunny safe zone with gloves on, nobody's making an account. So there isn't one. Each phone gets one permanent anonymous ID the first time it opens; the only thing anyone types is a callsign.
-
Scan the QR
Or thumb in the 5-letter team code the organizer printed. That's the whole login.
-
Pick a callsign
GHOST, VIPER, whatever. Change it any time - it's the one field you fill in.
-
You're a live dot
Straight onto your team's map, in the right role, sharing position. Seconds, not signups.
Every role on the field
Same app. The map just knows who you are.
Roles are cosmetic names over a capability set - so the map shows each person exactly what their job needs, and nothing it shouldn't.
-
Operator
Player - Rifleman
See your squad, follow the objective, mark yourself hit in one thumb. Reads in two seconds, one-handed, in the sun.
- sees own team
- marks hit
- takes orders
-
Commander
Squad / element lead
Call the shots - push orders and map markers to your team, drop a ping on 'assault here,' read the whole squad's spread at a glance.
- sees own team
- sends orders
- drops markers
-
Marshal / Ref
Safety - hits - chrono
The god-view for the official. Every team, live, on one screen - so you can adjudicate a hit, resolve a dispute, and keep the field safe, without running the game.
- sees ALL teams
- calls hits
-
Game Master
Organizer - runs the day
Run the whole event: spin up a game, add your factions, place objectives and respawns, print each team's QR, and watch the entire field move.
- sees ALL teams
- edits map
- manages roster
- prints codes
It bends to your event. Because a role is just a name and a capability set, you're not stuck with four. Spin up a Chrono Ref, a Safety Marshal, a media shooter with a look-but-don't-touch god-view, a civilian faction with its own colour - no code, no new build. The structure of your game is your call.
For the people who run the day
Set up a game in minutes. Hand out codes. Watch it play.
Create the game, add your factions - Blue, Red, Civilians, OPFOR, as many as you like - each gets its own colour and a printable QR. Tape them up at the safe zone, and every scan drops a player onto the right team.
- Factionsown colour + code, as many as your event needs
- Join codesper-team QR, printable
- The fieldobjectives - respawns - parking
- Cleanupgame auto-deletes when it ends
For the ref with the final call
The god-view marshals actually need.
Marshals are the supreme authority on the field - they need to see everyone to make the call. Phalanx gives the marshal every team on one live map (players only ever see their own), so a disputed hit or a safety issue is settled by what's on the screen, not a shouting match.
- Marshal seesall teams, live
- Players seeown team only
- A hitself-marked, timestamped, on the map
Landscape reflow and a high-contrast daylight theme for direct sun.
And it's still engineered underneath. Battery treated like ammo, honest dots that grey out when signal drops, a moving arrow that only shows when someone's actually moving - the boring things, solved first.
For your rules
The questions that decide whether you allow this on your field.
-
What does a hit player see?
Straight answer: yes, a hit player still sees the live map. If your rules say dead men carry no intel, make it a briefing rule for now - a hit-lockout setting is on the roadmap, and field tests decide its shape.
-
What are the player caps?
Beta caps are open right now - run your real Sunday, whatever the headcount. At launch, free games stay 20 players or fewer, with headcount brackets priced above that. Running something bigger - talk to us.
-
Does SOS override the marshal?
No - it complements the marshal. Triggering it gets the marshal's eyes on you fastest; the whistle still rules the field.
-
Isn't a live team map cheating?
Some rulesets ban live maps outright - that's the GM's call, and Phalanx doesn't argue with marshals. Both teams get identical tools, nobody can buy an edge, and if your event runs map-free, run map-free. This is for the games that want the picture.
Whoever's holding the field, the map's built for you.
Operator, commander, marshal, organizer. One app, one join, every role. Built by engineers who happen to play airsoft.
